Reihonna--I had no idea what this would be like. I thought it might be a beige nutty ice cream with a slightly buttery taste. Or, it could be nutty and bitter. The actual ice cream was white with big hunks of walnuts in it. The ice cream was fine, I think it tasted slightly nutty but mostly just vanilla-like. The nuts, however, were awful. They were stale and bitter and chewy. They were so bad that I started spitting them out about half way through the ice cream and I pushed a bunch of the ice cream off of my cone into the First Merit Bank lawn so that I didn't have to eat it. Ewww. This is officially the first ice cream in this experiment that I didn't finish.
Would you order it again: No, no, no.
Would you recommend it to someone else? No, there has to be better walnut ice cream. Anyone that likes walnuts would be disapointed.

Ian: This ice cream is a good concept, a subtle ice cream flavor with a really nice texture contrast: the walnuts. This held true for the first bite, but then Reihonna and I began to notice pretty quickly that the nuts were stale, so that kind of ruining it. Also there was a mysterious sewage smell wafting about (not ice cream related), so we walked over to the bank. I'd say don't buy this until you know for a fact it's fresh batch.
Would you order it again? No
Would you recommend it to someone else? No, quality was lacking this time.

Maybe you'd feel better about black walnut ice cream if you weren't eating it at 8:36 AM!
