Black Cherry Ice Cream

Reihonna--I was not looking forward to this flavor. (Remember that I don't like fruit-flavored desserts) I always imagined black cherry anything to be a mysterious adult flavor that was designed by adults to prevent themselves from being happy. I mean, think of the name black cherry.
Strangely I was all wrong. Not about the part where I didn't like it, but the reason i didn't like it. The flavor was candy-sweet with none of that nice cherry tartness that I was expecting. I imagine that without the hunks of cherries one could market this ice cream as "pink" flavor and sell a lot more of it to children. Ian assures me that this is what Black Cherry is supposed to taste like. To me it seemed unrelated to any fruit, especially cherry.

Would you order it again? NO
Would you recommend it to someone else? If they like Black Cherry ice cream, I guess. Ian says this is what black cherry is supposed to taste like.

Ian: Reihonna is all wrong on this because she is a fruit hater. Anyone who has been to Dairy Queen and ordered a black cherry sundae knows this is the proper taste for black cherry ice cream. It's sweet, yes, but so are cherries themselves. I liked it a lot because I like fruit flavored ice creams. However there is something to the fact that there wasn't much contrast between the ice cream and the cherry chunks. So maybe less syrup in ice cream itself to let the actual cherry shine.
