Banana Ice Cream

Ian- I wasn't too sure about the Banana Ice Cream Flavor, but since it was first on the list, there was no getting around it. I imagined soft serve vanilla with the Banana taste as a syrupy injection, similar to how Sheetz would do the Banana Mocha Frappacino. However, when the cone arrived, it really was a pleasant surprise. First of all the flavor was more subtle then the the Kool-Aid goodness I was suspecting, and best of all there were actual "fruit" banana chunks in there. It was subtle and it didn't leave an syrupy sweet aftertaste.

Would you order it again: Maybe, but this is mainly for for Banana enthusiasts. Would you recommend it to someone else? Sure, if that person liked subtle "fruit" flavors. I personally do. One of my favorite flavors was a very natural tasting blueberry ice cream up in Ontario, Canada.
Scale of 1 to 10. I rate it a 6 because it was good, but I'm not a huge enough banana fan to rate it higher.

Reihonna--Let me just tell you now, I am not a fan of fruit flavored anything. I especially do not like "fruit" flavor in my ice cream or in my candy. I love fruit, but not the flavoring. The idea of Banana ice cream was so gross to me that I almost quit the whole project right then. I was imagining school-bus-yellow ice cream with that artificial banana flavor used in bubble gum and ice pops. Eww. But... I was pleasantly surprised. The ice cream was the color of vanilla ice cream or, you know, bananas. The flavor was delicate and tasted just like a real banana with some milk and sugar added. I discovered why after a few licks--real pieces of banana were in the ice cream! This isn't banana flavored ice cream, it is ice cream made with bananas! I can't imagine banana ice cream being any better than this kind is. That said, bananas are my least favorite fruit, so I wasn't gobbling this stuff up. I did eat the whole cone and I enjoyed it, but I am not buying it in gallons or anything. In summary-- if you love bananas and like delicate ice cream flavors, this is your flavor right here. If you are making fruit parfaits with ice cream, this would be a nice addition. Maybe in a fruit themed icebox cake with graham cracker crust you could use this as a filling. Just some suggestions.

Would you order this again?: not as a cone, maybe in a sundae with other fruit flavors.
Would you recommend this to someone else? Definitely. If you like bananas. I think my grandmother would like this.
Scale of 1 to 10:
5

ps- We realized as we wrote this that we should take pictures of each cone. Stay tuned for future posts!
